Building on my initial goal of improving our community documentation, I have just published a comprehensive, modernized guide on how to handle video accessibility for WordPress.tv.
You can find the full step-by-step tutorial here: How to add captions and subtitles to a WordPress.tv video
As I mentioned in my previous post, the existing instructions for subtitling were becoming outdated. We wanted to create a resource that was:
- Fast: Utilizing AI tools to handle the heavy lifting.
- Modern: Moving away from old platforms to local, powerful software.
- Clear: Distinguishing once and for all between Captions (accessibility) and Subtitles (translation).
In this guide, you will find my contribution to the WordPress.tv team.
My goal with this post wasn’t just to write a tutorial, but to provide a blueprint that can eventually be integrated into the official Make WordPress TV Handbook.
